Excellent food and wonderful service. Tonight I had buttered chicken, chicken Marsala and lamb vindaloo. Everything was very flavorful, for the appetizers I had garlic naan and it was fresh, perfectly soft and thin. If you like Indian food you must try this restaurant!

Went here for the first time last night...food was so-so. Loved the Naan but my main dish (Chicken Tikka Masala) had too much oil. The taste was okay but it was hard to get past how oily the dish was. I will probably not go back to this restuarant.

The quality has deteriorated! Sad! Very good food! Authentic flavor, what I expect from an Indian restaurant. Ambiance is good! People are courteous! Good to have someone who is selling the food fresh. Service is very good within 20 days of their opening, I have already been there more than 10 times. I highly recommend. try their Chicken 65, Goat Biryani, Goat Sukha, & crispy naan. For me Goat sukha is favorite. Nice quantity for the prices.

This place is great. If you have always wanted to try Indian food, I highly recommend this place. I had the chicken tikka Masala, and my husband had the tandoori chicken. Both were fantastic. The Naan bread is stellar! Our food came at different times, but we also had samosas, and the mango yogurt drink. The service was lacking a bit, but my husband and I always share our food, so it wasn't terrible. I'm most definitely looking forward to coming back here. The staff is also super friendly and very polite, so if you just want to try this type of food for the first time, this is the place to come!

The food was tasty but the service was horrible! We arrived and were seated. Minutes passed and nobody was brining any menus. The restaurant wasn't even half full, and yet nobody was paying attention to our table. During our waiting time, we noticed some finger stains on one spoon and a glass on our table....We were considering leaving, but we finally got the menus. We love Indian food, so we made our minds fairly quick. Despite we had our menus closed and looked ready to order, it still a long time to have our server take our order. We ordered samosas as appetizers. I ordered chicken vindaloo and an order of nan. The server was about to leave without taking my husband's order. My husband ordered chicken biryani and stated that he wanted it spicy. The server sort of laughed and asked if he was sure, which didn't seem very professional. The order processing was very poor. Our samosas came out with a side of ketchup, which we had never seen at any Indian restaurant. They were tasty. My food came out with the nan. However, my husband dish did not follow. I asked our server if it was coming out shorty and he said yes. Minutes kept passing and no food was coming. I asked someone else if the food was coming. He said he would check, but he looked puzzle and asked why I wasn't eating. I responded that I wanted to wait for my husband's meal to start eating, which seemed to surprise the restaurant server. Finally, the chicken byriani was out. We ate mostly everything and liked the taste of the chicken vindaloo and the chicken byriani dish. However, my husband is not sure if his chicken was completely cooked. The nan was super dried. It is the worst nan we have ever tried. To sum up, we do not recommend this restaurant bc of its terrible service and the lack of care. It has the potential to be a good restaurant, but a lot must changed internally. Update: my husband got very sick. We think it was the undercooked chicken byriani.

Pathetic service and equally bad food. If that's not all, the main course portions are really small and don't justify the price these guys are charging. We ordered Chicken tikka and Gobi Manchurian in appetizers. The chicken was dry, chewy and tasted as if re-cooked. Gobi Manchurian was equally disappointing. Very sour and an over-dose of hot sauce. For the main course we ordered Dal tadka, chicken chettinadu, Kadhai paneer and breads. Dal tasted good but was plain. Definitely not Dal 'tadka'. Kadhai paneer was more on the sweeter side and tasted like just another Chinese stir fried veggie dish. Chicken chettinadu was an overdose of unwanted spices. Over-did the whole thing. Special note - After finishing the apps we asked at least 3 of the servers to have our plates changed for the main course. One of them reacted as if I had asked for half of his property. The other 2 just smiled and never brought the plates in. Eventually we had to use the same ones. Strictly a no- no for us. There are better Indian restaurants around.

Food is delish!! Staff isn't exactly what we're used to here but we managed. Will definitely do take-out from now until on.

Congrats, you forced me to write a review First thing, if customer doesn't tip you and you dare to ask, are you new in town? It might also mean that he has already thrown 25$ on a horribly overpriced food which was undercooked as well. And is UNHAPPY Well so one thing to be happy for you.. A non - tipping customer is not coming back. For record or reference or to be objective, though I am not sure you would use it, chicken chat.. Was undercooked and chewy. And spices were also not cooked. Eating under cooked Indian spices can cause stomach ache to customer. And rest of the food was mediocore at best. Portion size being small is a favor to customer I think, hence one star for being considerate.

I've had curry on a number of occasions at Akbars when visiting my husband's family abroad. I'm a baby when it comes to real spicey food, but the prawn korma is to die for. It's sweet, without being overly so, and the service was amazingly friendly and attentive. You don't always see this from servers whose income doesn't rely on getting good tips. My husband and I are on the lookout for a good curry house reminiscent of Akbars. Persis Biryani Indian Grill isn't it. I would not only never recommend Persis to a friend, I would highly encourage anyone considering this place to reconsider. Though the place was very nearly empty, we were seated right next to the host's station. Had I been alone, this probably wouldn't have been a problem, but my husband's chair, and he's a skinny guy, sat right in front of the opening to get into the host's station, which left him getting bumped every few minutes when our server or someone else would run to grab the phone. Our server would hover in the host's station, which made me feel as though I couldn't have a private conversation with my husband. Immediately, I was not impressed. Our server never asked us if we'd like anything other than water, which was automatically poured. My husband had to ask him for something else. He ordered some mango yogurt drink, sorry I don't recall the name, that he's had before. It was TINY for the price, but my husband did express that it was quite flavorful. I feel bad calling him "our server," but he never gave us a name to refer to him by. The menu is quite small, but they did have korma. The only problem was that the korma sauce was limited to a single vegetarian dish. When he came back to take our order, I asked him if it was possible to get the korma sauce from the vegetarian dish over chicken instead. He proceeded to point out a few other chicken dishes that were "very mild" and "very good, but none were korma. I tried again to explain that I wanted the korma sauce, but couldn't I just get some meat in it? He did more of the pointing to the chicken dishes. I don't know if he just didn't understand me. I don't know if all the dishes are prepped in large vats in the back, so alterations aren't available, or what. I reluctantly ordered the vegetarian korma, which ended up being okay. Nothing spectacular or anything, certainly not worth the high price tag. The portion size was fine. My husband polished off his chicken tikka no problem. We ordered nans as well, which were burned black on any of the bubbly areas; they are supposed to be a nice toasty looking brown. Our server didn't bring our food, there was a separate food runner for that, but no one ever stopped by again after that. No one checked to see how the food was. No one stopped to refill our small water glasses, which were empty within minutes of receiving our food, and we had to finally go get our server to bring us the bill. Bottom line: the food was reminiscent of the frozen curries you can get at Trader Joes. Don't get me wrong, those frozen curries are okay, but for the price tag and seriously lack luster service at Persis, it's not worth it.
